As part of the agreement with House of Fraser, Longacre also acquired a surplus site in John Street at the rear of the store. An attractive back street with a mixture of retail and restaurants, Longacre’s proposals involved the construction of 6 new apartments and a commercial space to replace an existing ground floor and basement storage building.
The scheme provided an enhanced conservation and heritage gain by completing the street scene and adding modern quality ground floor space capable of being used for restaurant or retail.
The residential is accessed to the side by a stunning stone archway and wrought iron gate into an outside courtyard. All flats have lift access.
